Checking the transmission fluid on a sealed transmission in a Toyota vehicle requires a specific procedure since these transmissions do not have a traditional dipstick. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you check the transmission fluid level on a sealed transmission:

    Tools Required:
Vehicle lift or jack and jack stands
    Ratchet and socket set
Transmission fluid check plug tool (specific to your Toyota model)
    Clean rag or paper towel
Funnel (if fluid needs to be added)
Correct type of transmission fluid (refer to the owner’s manual)
    Safety gloves and glasses
    Procedure:
    Warm Up the Vehicle:

Start the engine and let it idle until the engine reaches its normal operating temperature. This ensures the transmission fluid is at the right temperature for an accurate check.
    Park on a Level Surface:

Make sure the vehicle is parked on a flat, level surface. Shift the gear selector through all the gears and then leave it in ‘Park’ or ‘Neutral’ (consult your owner’s manual).
    Raise the Vehicle:

Use a jack to lift the vehicle and support it securely with jack stands, or use a vehicle lift to access the transmission.
Locate the Transmission Fluid Check Plug:

Find the transmission fluid check plug. This is usually located on the side of the transmission. Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for the exact location.
Remove the Transmission Fluid Check Plug:

With the engine running and the transmission fluid at operating temperature, use a ratchet and socket to carefully remove the check plug.
    Check the Fluid Level:

If fluid drips out of the check plug hole, the fluid level is correct.
If no fluid comes out, the fluid level is low and needs to be topped off.
    Add Transmission Fluid (if needed):

If the fluid level is low, add the correct type of transmission fluid. You will need a pump or a funnel with a tube to add fluid through the check plug hole.
Add fluid slowly and intermittently check the level by reinstalling the check plug and seeing if fluid drips out.
    Reinstall the Check Plug:

Once the fluid level is correct, reinstall the check plug securely.
    Lower the Vehicle:

Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground if you used a jack and jack stands.
    Safety Tips:
Always wear safety gloves and glasses to protect yourself from hot fluids and debris.
Ensure the vehicle is securely supported to prevent accidents.
Consult your Toyota owner’s manual or service manual for any model-specific instructions or precautions.
